Hi there! I just read your posts about the Fresno Writers Group (they are older posts), and would like to express my sadness that you had the experiences you did while working with them. I also quit the group after spending about 5 months with them. I can say I am in agreement with you on several levels. I did not experience racism since I am white, but did experience the ageism you mentioned, as I was the youngest of the group. I had very negative experiences with Jeff and Wayland as well, significantly due to their inflexibility and Jeff’s extremely inflated view of self. This was a long story to ask if you found another group to work with locally because I am very much interested, but a bit gun-shy now.
